CBI ready to nail Dera chief for murder, rape

The Blasphemer of Sirsa is now wanted for murder and rape by CBI. Quote from article -

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claims to have found evidence against Baba Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, chief of the Dera Saccha Sauda sect, for the murder of a male follower and the rape of a former sadhvi (woman disciple).
Sources have told CNN-IBN that the CBI has completed its investigation and will file a charge sheet on July 31. The story begins on July 10, 2002 when Dera followers allegedly shot dead their former colleague Ranjit Singh, whom they suspected of leaking an anonymous letter written to the Prime Minister and the CBI in which he had alleged that the Baba raped his sister, a former sadhvi.

CBI have now got enough evidence on the Blasphemer from Sirsa to put him away for a long, long time for his misdemeanours. Why is this taking so long? It is amusing that in a recent letter to the media from the Spin Doctors of the Choota 'Dera', they state that "that tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, had pardoned Mughal emperor Aurangzeb for cruelty shown towards the Sahibzadas and other family kin of the Guru". So, now they are comparing their Chief, the Blasphemer of Sirsa, to the infamous Aurangzeb! We all know how he perished away after reading the Zafarnama!

In other news, former Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Bhai Ranjit Singh, comes down heavily on SGPC and KAC for the failure in resolving this crisis. Wish he was still the Jathedar!

The Sikh Conclave in Ratia, Haryana , which was proclaimed by the Jathedar of the Shri Akal Takht Sahib, has got cancelled. This is the same Conclave that the Jathedar said was going ahead at all costs a couple of days ago and that it will not be cancelled due to anyone. Well, the PM of India did get it cancelled. It's a shame that the PM can't influence the Blasphemer of Sirsa to say sorry to Shri Akal Takht and the Sikh Panth. Then again, that 'Dera' is his party's vote bank! No surprise there! The Jathedar is asking for unity which is good but the Panth is also asking the Jathedar not to flip flop so much! This was an incredible development as it's the first time a 'Gurmatta' from Shri Akal Takht has been revoked! Also, the Jathedar unilaterally decided this without the agreement of all five Jathedars of the Takhts (especially, the Jathedar of Shri Damdama Sahib). One has to say that this Dera crisis is in a right mess without any leadership from the Sikh Panth!

In other news, the SAD (Amristar) have pointed out the suppression of the KAC by the State and Union Governments. Also, some 'cops' have been transferred to other areas after their transgression against the Sikhs the other day at Ferozepur. What a whitewash!?!

SGPC held an executive meeting today at Shri Fatehgarh Sahib. They have decided to take up the Dera issue with the Congress led Union Home Minister. It will be interesting to see how this develops but there's no point holding one's breath. Also, they have decided to ignore the Khalsa Action Committee by refusing to recognise it. This is exactly what's wrong at the present. Why don't these guys work together to achieve the same goal?

In the meantime, the misguided folk from the Choota 'Dera' have tried to curry favour with the media and public opinion by using the combined tactics of hunger strikes and setting themselves on fire!?! The Naakli 'Baba' really should hold his head in shame. The other side of his chumchays is also shown by the continous clashes with Sikhs in the sourthern districts.

According to the petition for bail from the Blasphemer of Sirsa, he has personally apologised to the Sikh Panth. This nugget of information came via his lawyer. It's certainly news to all as the evidence so far suggests anything but this. The only things the Sikh Panth has seen are press notes from his personal chumchay.

In other news, the Khalsa Action Committee has decided to change tactics so that Mister Badal can hear them. They have decided to protest outside his house. Let's hope he doesn't have double glazing. Lol!

In the news report, Punjab Police present two criminals from the Choota Dera, to the Courts for the murder of Shaheed Bhai Kanwaljeet Singh last month. This really shows the true nature of this Cult.

In the meantime, Mister Badal spends his time bickering rather than using the small amount of energy that he has on this case. The Choota 'Dera' are complaining about the atrocities against them to the media but they conveniently forget to mention all the instances where they are cause of the aggravation. If the Shri Akal Takht Sahib has asked the Sikh Panth to boycott these Naakli 'Baba''s chumchay then why do they want to interact with the Sikh Quom? They have their 'godman'. The Dragnet is closing on the Blasphemer of Sirsa. He's doing everything in his power to squirm out of the charges (and the obvious mandatory apology to the Sikh Nation). He's blaming everyone under the Sun of his predicament (except himself). Maybe, the muppet should have a good look at what he wears next time. In one of his multiple blackmail/manipulative rules for his misguided followers, he's asked them to give up their lives. For some strange reason, some of his female followers have started hunger strikes. Not sure how this will help him. He should rewrite the rule to say that he can take any one's life and get away with it as he believes he's above any law.

One of the features coming out of this crisis, regrettably, is the lack of unity within the Sikh hierarchy and leadership. Unfortunately, this is further shown up in the last few days. Khalsa Action Committee has broken up with the Jathedar of Shri Damdama Sahib. The other feature to come out of the crisis is the constant pressure on the Jathedars from political parties, media and so called experts of Sikhism (that do not believe in Rehat Maryzada). In daas's humble opinion, the decision the other day to reject the press note was the correct decision and the only valid option available.

Mister Badal is going to drag his feet with the court case. In the meantime, the next point of note in the calendar will be the Panthic Sabha in Ratia, Haryana on July 11.

The battleground is now shifting to the Naakli 'Baba''s neck of woods. The next Panthic rally will be at Ratia, Haryana, next month.

Political manoeuvring regarding the new so-called 'apology' from the Choota 'Dera' was the name of the game today. It's all about grassing someone up, telling tall tales and then going to see the headmaster. Er, this is is not a school playground story but current state of affairs with Sikh politics. Sigh.

The main focus should be on the Naakli 'Baba', the Blasphemer of Sirsa! His true nature is shown in this article. It's absolutely frightening how this individual has amassed so much wealth from basically nothing. He's laughing it up with thousand of employees who are gagging to help him increase his wealth. These poor misguided people do not see the big picture. They see free food, medical care, education, lodgings, social identity etc. This Blasphemer is feeding them exactly what they want to hear but the reality is that he's just a conman who is just using them. He uses aspects from the Sikh Dharam and then spins it for his own personal use. The Sikh signs, sayings, 'Sacha Sauda', 'Khande di Pahul', 'Amrit', 'Panj Piarae', 'Rehat Maryzada' plus aspects from other faiths. He'll have to pay the piped piper in the end!

Real Sants, like Sant Baba Nand Singh Ji, didn't have any wealth. They lived and preached as the Sangat. Compare this against the Blasphemer from Sirsa. Chalk and cheese, chalk and cheese.

Wish SGPC spend more time and effort with Dharam Parchaar in these districts to save these people from these fake godmen.

Today, Khalsa Action Committee 'awareness' march got an overwhelming response in the extreme heat. The peaceful march in tight security showed the Choota 'Dera' that the Sikh Quom's spirit is ever lasting. The marchers requested the arrest of Naakli 'Baba', the Blasphemer of Sirsa.

The doom and gloom merchants from the press and political parties were proven wrong regarding the march. However, it didn't stop some poor excuse for a journalist to label the march as 'Khalistani activists within the newly-formed Khalsa Action Committee ... began with repeated chants of pro-Khalistan and Bhindranwale zindabad slogans despite the presence of scores of heavily-armed Punjab Police personnel'. This Asit Jolly from the Asian Age is surely in the wrong profession (his infamous name been mentioned before in this blog). Instead of sending his 'CV' to Asian Age, he should send it to Paramount Comedy Central. Lol! It's the funniest peace of 'journalism' I've read in many a year. This superb cartoon in this link describes him perfectly. Plus, the men and women of his ilk have already been shown up by the sevadars at Panthic Weekly in this great link. The Khalsa Panth should boycott these newspapers with their own hidden agendas who have no idea of impartial reporting in this crisis.

All eyes on the Khalsa Action Committee's 'Awareness' march today from Gurdwara Dina Kangar in Moga to Shri Takht Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo. A lot of parties are against this march but one has to believe it is a good idea to show the Naakli 'Baba', the Blasphemer of Sirsa, that the Sikh Quom are not going to forget his blasphemy in a hurry.

Exclusively, from WSN, this is the latest 'apology' from the Blasphemer of Sirsa. On a personal note, this doesn't seem to be an apology from the individual but rather a collective regret. One wonders why? Well, here's the text :-

"The Dera Sacha Sauda organisation believes in all religions (Sarv-dharma) and respects them. To help build character, to help people shun non-vegetarian food and narcotics, to help remove differences of religion, caste etc and to inculcate self-less love are the objectives of this organisation. Sant Ji says that leave aside imitation of Sarbansdani Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj or equating with him, he cannot even think of such a thing. The developments of the last few days are a subject of concern and the misunderstandings emerging from that are extremely regrettable. In the interests of the humanity, we seek forgiveness from True Rehbar of Roohaniyat, Satguru Sarbansdani Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the Guru Panth. May the peace and mutual harmony prevail in Punjab, Haryana and desh-videsh, such is our wish! "

Someone has to answer the following questions regarding the latest attempt of an 'apology' from the Blasphemer of Sirsa -

1. Will the Dera chief stop his Jaam-e-Insa programs? The apology provides no answer, and a program is scheduled this week at Sirsa again.
2. Why was the meeting with the representatives of Dera held in a hush-hush manner?
3. Paramjit Singh Sarna was a member of the Khalsa Action Committee. Why did he not take the KAC into confidence while maintaining direct links with the Dera? Why did he not take permission of any of the clerics for this?
4. Why was the house of the Police SSP chosen as a meeting place?
5. Why did the Dera representatives not face the media and sneaked out in the night from the SSP's residence?
6. What prompted sudden somersault by Jathedar Balwant Singh Ji Nandgarh?
7. If the issue is of such prominence, why was it not possible for someone to open the envelope, and read out the contents to Jathedar Vedanti who could then have confabulated with other clerics or any leaders? In this age of 'new-age' communications, what impression does it convey of the highest leadership of the community? Weren't other clerics capable of opening the envelope and read and discuss what the apology contained?
8. Do we not have a situation where Sarna and the dera men, and a police SSP, knows what the Akal Takht jathedar and the Sikh quom, and best panthic leaders do not know?
9. Does anyone believe that Parkash Singh Badal does not know the contents of the sealed envelope?
10. Why is the Akali Dal silent on the opne support of Congress to the Dera head on the floor of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha in the ongoing session?

Mister Badal, for once has uttered something of note. Hooray! He has asked the Central Government to make Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's Guru Gaddi Diwas an International Day of recognition. In the present day of mushroom deras in Punjab, with their multiple godmen, this can only be described as a step in the right direction, as it will illuminate the minds of the misguided folk, on who really is our Guru! Guru Maaneyo Granth! WaheGuru Satnaam!

Tomorrow's march from Dina Kangar to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib will now not be a 'protest' march but rather an 'awareness' march. The organisers still wish to keep to the original route but it can't be guaranteed with the normal arm twisting at the last moment.

Further pressure is being applied on the Naakli 'Baba', the Blasphemer of Sirsa. He's currently shouting 'uncle' from the rooftops but that's not going to stop the noose from tightening further around his neck. The Punjab Police has now asked the Badal Administration for the go-ahead of his arrest, so it's left to the godfather of Punjab, Mister Badal, to make the final decision. Unfortunately for the Sikhs, his primary objective his 'kursi' so there is no guarantee that the Blasphemer will be arrested.

The Blasphemer's continuous attempts to give fake apologies isn't cutting ice with a lot of GurSikhs. It will be interesting if the Jathedars will accept it this time. Daas hopes that they stay strong and ignore the pressure from the political parties in Punjab. Personally, the Jathedar of Shri Damdama Sahib has looked the strongest out of the group.

Latest reports suggest that this latest 'apology' from the Naakli 'Baba', the Blasphemer of Sirsa, is going to be rejected. Firstly it's unsigned, not from the criminal that started this crisis in the first place and obviously, not worth the paper it is written on. However, the SGPC committee has stated that the final decision on this 'apology' will be taken by the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht once he gets back to Punjab.

As per the earlier march from Shri Fatehgarh Sahib, political pressure is being applied to change the route for the June 24 march from Dina Sahib to Shri Damdama Sahib. Let's hope that the Panth stays strong and doesn't give into these non-Panthic organisations. Others have already chosen their sides before the march. Sigh.

We can only hope that the increasing of security in some of the southern districts is tied to impending action against the Blasphemer of Sirsa. However, recent history in Punjab suggests that the Police will probably do the opposite and increase his security cover. Wait a minute, they have already done this. Lol!

Since when has that ever stopped the Punjab Police from making arrests? They just need to check their dusty filing cabinets and search for Operation Bluestar and Operation Black Thunder! Then again, these folks are not Sikhs and that is normally a precondition for such Operations by the Indian Administration. Lol!

The heat is under the seat of the blasphemer at Sirsa, hence the 'apology'. However, as the Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht is away abroad, there has been no statement or reaction to this 'apology'. There will be a further march by Sant Samaj on June 24 with other Khalsa Organisations.

On a side note, deras in Punjab are now under intense pressure to conform to Sikh Rehat Maryzada. If they don't then the Khalsa Panth will take the appropriate action as required.

Slight result today in that the Indian Judicial System was able to raise a conditional arrest warrant against the Naakli 'Baba' and his Choota 'Dera'. The Judge must have been thinking about the hordes of these misguided hoodlums bearing down on his house so he left the decision to arrest the Naakli 'Baba' to Mister Badal. We all know where this is now leading up to ... So, to the tune of Dad's Army, 'Who do you think you are kidding Mister Badal?' Lol!

In the meantime, to cover all the bases, the Naakli 'Baba' sends another unsigned apology, this time to DSGPC, hoping this will save his skin and probably the sacks full of his possessions.

The Sant Samaj today held a peaceful march from Shri Fatehgarh Sahib to Chandigarh. This protest was against the lack of arrest of Mister Naakli 'Baba' from the Choota 'Dera'. It was a highly commendable act as they are trying to focus the Panth to the key objective. They are not trying to shove this crisis under the carpet (unlike some people in the Punjab Administration). They are keeping the focus of the Panth on this issue. The fact that Punjab Police was unwilling to arrest the Sants (for basically free speech) plus forcing them to raise an arrest warrant against the Naakli 'Baba' says that this was a very worthwhile exercise. The Indian Courts have asked for more proof from the prosecution but that shouldn't take too long for the Inspector Clouseaus of Punjab Police. Just pick up the newspaper from a month ago and have a look at the advertisements on the front page!!! Even, the godfather of Punjab, Mister Badal, tried to sweet talk to the Sants but that just didn't cut ice with them. They saw straight through him and couldn't be pressurised as per the Jathedars. No wonder the Jathedar of the Shri Akal Takht felt left out. The Panth needs results and a month down the line, the Naakli 'Baba' at Sirsa is still laughing it up. If the Sant Samaj can force the Administration to do something (and peacefully - mental note to Indian media) then we all should be very proud of them.

Here is today's news report. There was also reports of further ultimatum from Shaheed Kanwaljit Singh Ji's family to Punjab Police to arrest the cold blooded murderers from the Choota 'Dera'. Seems murders are a common pattern at this 'Dera'. Must be the most widely used skill at this 'Dera'. Lol!

The Sant Samaj's ultimatum to arrest the Naakli 'Baba' from the Choota 'Dera' expired today. Tomorrow, they will start a procession from Fatehgarh Sahib to Chandigarh where they will court arrest.

The unbelievably fast Punjab Police (lol) moved to local court seeking arrest warrant against the Naakli 'Baba' for hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikhs. A criminal case registered under Section 295-A of the IPC against the Naakli 'Baba'. One does wonder regarding the timing of this development. It's been over a month since this crisis erupted and the Police raised this today, a day before the Sant Samaj willing to court arrest.

The Jathedars of the Takhts had a meeting today to discuss the latest developments but there was no statement. However, Jathedar of Takht Shri Damdama Sahib, Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, at the release of a book which honoured the Shaheeds of 1984, “Indo-Punjab battle June 1984”, asked Sikh youths to understand the “activities and conspiracies” of those agencies which wanted to defame the Sikhs due to the ongoing social, religious and political boycott of the misguided followers of the Choota 'Dera'.

Today is Shaheedi Gurpurb of Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaj. So here is daas's very humble tribute to Panjmay Patshah! WaheGuru Satnaam!

When Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth master in the line of Guru Nanak, ascended the spiritual throne, the new faith propounded by his predecessors had achieved immense popularity.
Bhai Gurdas, the contemporary of the masters, makes a mention of this popularity in his poems called in Punjabi as Vaars. According to him, the Gurus preached love and universal brotherhood that Hindus and Muslims were both deeply impressed. He openly declares in the stanza 34 of his first vaar that both Hindus and Muslims became the followers of the Gurus in large number. Says he:
Ghar ghar Baba Pooje-ai Hindu Musalmaan guaa-ee.
Chhape naahe chapaaiaa chariaa Sooraj jag rusnaa-ee
(Baba is worshipped in the house of both Hindus and Muslims.
When the Sun rises it can not be covered and it lightens the whole world.)
Guru Arjan Dev’s outstanding achievements include his secular message to people irrespective of their religion, caste and creed. When he thought of constructing a temple in the midst of Amrit Sarovar, he decided to get the foundation stone laid by a Muslim saint Sain Mian Mir. The guru kept its doors on all the four sides symbolising that Harmandar Sahib was opened to all from all directions.
Next, he thought of compiling the compositions of his predecessors in a single volume. While doing so, he displayed his secular spirit by including compositions of various Hindus and Muslim saints to give the best of spiritual thought available at that time. Compositions of 15 saints, both Hindus and Muslims (belonging to different parts of the country) and that of 11 Bhatts and 4 devotees not only make the holy compilation, unique, in the history of religions of the world. It was a bold step especially in the days when Hindus and Muslims were estranged, and never before had any religious book included the compositions of other religions therein.
His compositions covered a diversity of subjects that the numbers of hymns in the holy book as composed by him is the maximum. His knowledge of music was also reflected and he composed 30 ragas included in the Guru Granth Sahib, bears a testimony to this. The guru was an accomplished musicologist, who is said to have designed a new string instrument, saranda, for use by ragis. He employed professional rababis and ragis (musicians) to perform kirtan. Dhadis, using small hand-drums called dhads and a stringed instrument, sang vaars or ballads. Guru Arjan Dev encouraged lay Sikhs to train as kirtan singers.
The new place of worship made the guru so popular that both Hindus and Muslims started visiting him in large numbers.
Sikhs started calling him Sachha Padshah or the true ruler. Maulvis and pandits felt threatened and instigated emperor Jehangir, who was impatient and narrow-minded, against the guru. It is evident in Tuzak-i Jehangiri that Jehangir was determined to put a stop to the religious preaching of Guruji. Arjan Dev could foresee the anguish of the rulers and other detractors. That is why he instructed Baba Budha ji, to teach his son Hargobind shastar vidiya or knowledge about martial arts. He realized that alongside spiritual knowledge, martial knowledge too was required to defend one’s faith.
A misunderstanding was created between the rulers and the faith led by Guru Arjan Dev by vested interests who wanted to take advantage of Jehangir’s rancour.
Prithichand, Guru Arjan Dev’s brother, was annoyed because Guru Arjan Dev had been anointed as successor. Prithichand became a sworn enemy and enlisted the help of Sulhi Khan, the governor of Lahore and Chandu Shah, a high-ranking officer at Lahore, for taking revenge.
Chandu Shah was interested in getting his daughter married to Guru Arjan Dev’s son, Hargobind. Since he had uttered disparaging words, the Guru declined the offer at the suggestion of the Sikh gathering. The rejection of this proposal by the Guru made Chandu an enemy.
The immediate cause that led to the Guru’s martyrdom is related to the rebellion of emperor Jehangir’s son Khusro. According to Mehima Prakash by Sarup Dass Bhalla, when Khusro met the Guru, the latter showed him hospitality by serving him langar. This gesture on the part of the Guru provided an opportunity to Chandu Shah and other detractors of Sikhism to instigate the emperor by saying that the Guru had supported a rebellion and he should be fined heavily. When the fine was not paid, the Guru was arrested and was sentenced to death.
In Tuzak-i-Jehangiri, it is mentioned that the Emperor ordered: "That he should be brought into my presence, that his property be confiscated, and that he should be put to death with torture."
The sacrifice made by the Guru to defend the independence of ideas and following a religion separate from that of the ruling class, was the first known incident of martyrdom in the history of Sikh religion. He was subjected to extreme physical torture. He was made to sit on red hot iron plates and burning sand was poured upon him.
Mian Mir, his Muslim friend wanted to intercede on his behalf, but the Guru forbade him by saying that whatever was God’s will must be fulfilled. When the Guru was taken to Ravi river for a dip in cold water, it was a torture for his blistered body. However, obeying the God’s will, the Guru remained in meditation and peacefully passed away.
Guru Arjan Dev’s martyrdom brought a significant change in the cause of Sikh religious history. It showed that moral strength could always prevail upon the wicked forces. In the words of Sri Gokul Chand Narang, the writer of Transformation of Sikhs, "With Guru Arjan Dev’s martyrdom, the whole Punjab started burning with vengeance."
After his martyrdom, his son Hargobind was appointed as the successor. He was barely 11. Guru Arjan Dev had sent instructions to his son that he should arm himself for the protection of the faith. It was indeed the need of the time that the new religion, which had become an eyesore for many influential and highly placed people including the emperor, must be protected from their ruthless and tyrannous endeavour to destroy the same.
Today, when we celebrate the Martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev, we must remember the spirit and message of the master associated with this sacrifice. One must have considerable patience and faith in the will of God. For the sake of the honour and one’s faith, one must be prepared to sacrifice his life in fight tyranny and oppression. The following stunning account of the martyrdom of Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, is by a Jesuit,Father Jerome Xavier, in a letter written in Portuguese, from Lahore dated September 25, 1606, to the Provincial Superior of Goa, Father Gasper Fernandes.

When the Prince [Khusrau] came flying from Agra, he passed where a gentile called Guru, who amongst the gentiles is like the Pope amongst us. He was held as a saint and was as such venerated; because of this reputation of his and because of his high dignity the Prince went to see him, desiring, as it seems, some good prophecy. He gave him the good news of his reign and gave him a tikka (otria) on his forehead; although the man (the Guru) was a gentile and the Prince, a Moor; to the pontiff it seemed that it would be good to give this symbol peculiar to gentiles, as a sign of success in his undertaking; as the Prince was the son of a gentile woman and because of the prince's opinion of his saintliness.The King [Jahangir] came to know of this and after having imprisoned the Prince he ordered for the said Guru to be brought. Having him imprisoned, some gentiles interceded for their saint: finally they managed to get him sentenced to a hundred thousand cruzados, a petition of a rich gentile who remained his guarantor. This individual took care that either the King (El-Rei) annul this sentence or the saint have or at least negotiate that money; but in all he got frustrated; and he seized from his poor Pope everything he could find not sparing his clothes nor the clothes of his wife and sons; and seeing that all of this was not enough, as the gentiles don't have loyalty towards neither Pope or father regarding money, each and every day he gave new torments and gave new affronts to the poor saint. He ordered him to be beaten many times with shoes on his face and forbade him to eat, so that he (the Guru) would give him more money, as he was not willing to believe that he did not have it, but he did not have it nor did he find anyone who would give it to him; and thus amongst many trials, pains and torments given by the very ones who adored him, the poor Guru died. The guarantor tried to save himself, but he was imprisoned and killed after they had taken everything they could find.

It is a great documentary with haunting and horrific visuals. It looks at the demands and morcha of the Sikhs (Anandpur Resolution). Historical background including the sacrificies by the Sikh Nation for Hindustan are also shown. It is not biased by Government propoganda but tells the truth as it was/is ... nothing has changed much since 1984 ... WaheGuru

The two yobos from the Choota 'Dera' have been remanded in Punjab Police custody after their attack on Bhai Gurjant Singh Tolawal in Sangur yesterday. Bang 'em up and throw away the keys!

Bhai Jagtar Singh and his family now are victims of Punjab politics and weak Sikh leadership. This story is a real heart breaker.

Punjab media sucks so much with editorial attacks on anti-Dera Sikhs that members of the public are using some paper as bonfires. This activity is highly commendable given the current heat wave in Punjab. Lol!

Quelle Surprise! The Congress Party in Punjab is trying to hide it's vote bank by shoving the 'Dera' issue under the carpet. It's a shame that some people want to use 'Kaur' in their names but have no idea of Sikhi and Sikhism. Regtrettably, their love is to their 'Kursi' not to WaheGuru. What a shame! Some of this party just want to use the issue for their own political gains.

The Punjab Government is making a huge mistake by allowing this 'Dera' to continue. The Choota 'Dera''s misguided folk are getting cocky by attacking Sikhs and their kesh (shown by this earlier example - link). Not surprisingly, there will be a backlash on those that commit these criminal and heinous acts. Two less barber shops in Punjab can only be deemed as good news.

FALSE ACCUSATIONS BY GOVERNMENT
Charge Of Pakistan Connection.
In this struggle that has been going on for quite some time, there have been many arrests and martyrdoms. The Ministers of the Government of the time have started giving ever new statements. We should pay attention to all of these. Also, we have to be very alert to the attempts that are being made to alienate the public from the Akali Dal by going to various places, denying the separateness of the Sikh Nation, and denying the Sikh demands. Especially, this statement that Bibi Indira (Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India) has made that Pakistan has a hand in this struggle. Prior to this, Charan Choudhary (Charan Singh, Prime Minister of India 1977-1980) had made a statement that persons from Pakistan come to visit Bhindranwale in Nanak Niwas and return after discussions and making programs. (In doing this) that man showed bankruptcy of his mind, the death of his brain. (One might ask them): "If you know that persons from Pakistan come here to see me, you have so large a CID (Intelligence Division) why are those persons not arrested on their way? Then, they return from here. Why are they not apprehended at that time? If you (the leaders of the Government) know that they come to see me then you must be in league with them and they must be coming, getting out and returning with your permission." To this they have not given any reply in the newspapers. Sant Ji (Sant Harchand Singh Longowal) gave a very strongly worded statement today. (He said): "I shall resign the presidentship and even from the Akali Dal (if these accusations are proved to be true)." Although it has been said from this stage that Indira should resign her office, perhaps I am right when I say that only such persons do this (resign their office) who have some sense of dignity. But what is the use of saying anything to those who have no sense of shame at all? Occupying such high office, having become the Prime Minister of Hindostan, without thinking, she has herself started to accuses leading personalities. Which court will you turn to for justice? So, we have to keep our concentration to face these people. Work together. We cannot face the oppression that is being perpetrated at various places without unity.
Indira Gandhi Dismisses The Punjab Problem As A Handful Of Extremists Making Trouble. Indira Gandhi has given a statement that the trouble in Punjab is caused by a handful of people. She has labelled them as extremists. At first she used to say that the Akali Dal is getting it done and extremists are doing it under encouragement from the Akali Dal. When that formula did not succeed, she has given up one approach and taken up another, i.e., a handful of persons is responsible for it.
Sikhs Do Not Believe In Violence.
Perhaps she (Indira Gandhi) has forgotten that a Sikh does not believe in violence. Sikh does not believe in destroying life. A Sikh always upholds nAnc nAm CRHdI clA VErE BANE srb&V dA BlA "Nanak says: God's Name is glorious; there is good for all in accepting Your will". The Sikh follows this path. She has started to say so to give us a bad name. Either her CID (Intelligence Division) has given her this impression or she is deliberately being clever. 115,000 Have Volunteered To Die For The Faith. This Is Not A Handful. There has been an announcement from the Akal Takhat regarding 115,000 volunteers ready to die. Among them I too have come to the stage on two occasions. I too have come to the Guru's presence. All the mothers and brothers who have come there to the presence of Siri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the True King; I have preached at length to them all and got them to make a pledge to become extremists. She (Indira Gandhi) says there is a handful of people. She should carefully note that 115,000 raised their arms.
Government Calls Devout Sikhs Extremists.
We are firm extremists but of what type? Those who act the way Government says an extremist does. Whom does the Government call extremists? A person who takes Amrit (is formally initiated into the Sikh Faith) and administers it to others; who reads Baani (Siri Guru Granth Sahib) and teaches others to read it; who preaches unity and exhorts people to work together; who turns people towards cooperation; who unites them under the saffron Nishaan Sahib (the Sikh religious flag); who unites them with Akal Takhat Sahib and Harmandar Sahib; who is desirous of seeking justice (retribution) for the dishonor to our daughters and sisters, for the spilt blood of innocent people, for the irreverence shown towards Siri Guru Granth Sahib, the True King, and exhorts others to do the same - and we have to get these rights - the present Government has started calling such people extremists. Only Sikhs Of The Guru Have Volunteered. They Are More Than A Fistful.
I had said these things when I asked people to raise their arms. He who is a Sikh of the spinning wheel and the goat, a Sikh of the Radhaswamis and Narkdharias (Nirankaris), a Sikh who waters the pipal tree and sprinkles sandhoor on the Jand tree, should not raise his arm in the presence of our Master (Siri Guru Granth Sahib). He who is a Sikh of Satguru Granth Sahib, is a friend of the Panth (the Khalsa Brotherhood), has respect for the honor of daughters and sisters, has respect for the spilt blood of the innocent and the brave, should raise his arms. This was the pledge I got from the stage. They were 115,000. She should think it over. They were 115,000. (One might say to her): "You are not the form of Guru Nanak that you can include all of them in your fist. Your fist could not even contain Jagjiwan Ram (a former Minister in the Government of India), not even Bajpai (a Hindu leader) and others. They left you and departed. How will you hold 115,000 Sikhs in your fist through mere talk?" She says there is only a handful! From one point of view it is even a good thing. So long as the fist is closed the fist is formed, it is there. When we open the hand, it becomes a slap. Fingers cannot hurt as much as a fist can. When the fingers are closed they call it a fist. You know, in our language, what the fist can do. So, Khalsa Ji, so long as our fist is closed, we are together. We desist from mutual criticism. We are Guru's Singhs and work together. Let us stop saying "I am a Congressite, I am an Akali, I am Bhindranwala, I am so and so." Giving these up, one thing should penetrate the Sikh's mind: "I am a Sikh, I want to live in Hindostan as a Sikh and not as a kesdhari Hindu (Hindu with uncut hair)." When this thing enters our mind (we shall succeed). She says "they are a handful." One hundred and fifteen thousand have made the pledge here. Some friends have registered their names with me too. Some say: "Why have they registered their names with you?" Some brothers talk like this too. I do not wish to name them, may God give them good sense. I pray to the Guru. I am not angry with them. That's all the wisdom they have. Friends have registered their names with me too. Who are the people who have done so? These were those who said: "We are not going anywhere without you." The President, Sant Baba Harchand Singh Ji Longowal, was asked. A request was made to him: "Baba Ji, some Singhs think like this. You should tell us (what to do). If tomorrow there is going to be a talk that (Bhindranwale is) forming his own Akali Dal, then I shall request these people to go home. But if you so order, I can register them." He said: "Get them registered." Persons between sixteen and forty years of age have been registered. We have registered older persons as well but that (list) is separate. In this age group, the count with me is thirty thousand. She says they are a handful! Garja Singh and Bota Singh (Sikh heroes from 18th century who defied the Imperial rulers) were two. It will be good if the Guru has mercy, the Satguru is benevolent, and the job gets completed in peace. We definitely are supporters of peace, but if the train once starts then it will be known whether they are a mere handful or too many even for (enclosing in a blanket) wrap.
APPEAL TO SIKHS
Stay Peaceful But Prepared. We have to be peaceful. We have orders to stay peaceful but peacefulness alone is not enough. Stay prepared as well. Carry weapons. Work in cooperation. Give up intoxicants. Today I like to request the young men. Some are going in the group of protesters and some had come to see them off. Out of them, about sixty Singhs have today (pledged to) keep beards and to give up alcohol. I thank them and shall request them too: "Don't let things revert to what they were. Let it not happen that tomorrow you get out of jail and the day after you sit in front of a barber. You have made this pledge in Guru's presence. You have been to the (Akal) Takhat Sahib. Keep your word. May Satguru have mercy and give us wisdom."
We Have No Dissension.
In conclusion, I like to address those persons who under someone's instigation and to show the strengths of their brains have taken some such decisions that perhaps all this is Bhindranwale's job. I like to warn those people that in Gurmat (the Sikh way) such attitude is not good. I shall only say this much. They will understand. Those who have sin on their minds, start shivering on their own. Standing on this stage, I like to tell them again: "Try as hard as you wish to, there are not going to be any differences between the two of us - I and Longowal." Those people who have concocted these plans over cups of tea and over cookies, sitting in their chairs, should ponder and desist from such mischief. Times are very critical. Whichever of the two parties (to the conflict) - the Akali Dal and the Government - wavers will be routed. But the Sacrificer of His Sons (Siri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib) will have mercy. The Panth will never flinch. We have to follow the path of: inSC> cr aApnI jIV cr~: "Resolutely may I ensure my victory".
GOVERNMENT BRUTALITY AGAINST SIKHS
Confiscation Of Balwant Singh's Property.
Today I have also learnt about the property belonging to the family of Balwant Singh of Mukerian. Members of the Congress Party (Indira Gandhi's Party in Government) who listen to Kewal Krishan, not all but those who have become his touts just as they did at the time of (the case of) the Babbar Akalis, have harvested five acres of wheat, that had been sown (by Balwant Singh and his family), and taken it to their homes. The field has been ploughed. I did not make much mention of it thinking that from five acres perhaps they got 150 maunds (about 6 tons) and when the time comes we shall get it back But today I have learnt that Kewal Krishan, in his pride and to assert his influence in the area, has had advertisements issued for auction of (Balwant Singh's) house and the household effects. Perhaps after two or four days bids will be accepted. I shall request the newspapermen too to try to publish this information. If they do not, then the Singhs who have come from there should definitely let people in that area know: "God's men, we have no enmity with any of you, with any Punjabi; it is out of the question with any Sikh; not with any other caste either. But I like to say this. Those people who had put a price on the heads (of Sikhs), among them were Lakhpat and Jaspat, from among the ancestors of the present day (tyrant) Kewal Krishan. They had resolved that they would completely exterminate the Sikhs from the world. Kewal Krishan is acting the same way in the region around Mukerian - that he is not going to let even a brick remain in the foundations of Balwant Singh's property. But he should remember. Who does he think he is? Lakhpat and Jaspat made a pledge. The time came. Satguru had mercy. Those who nowadays are contemptuously described as backward classes, from among these harijans, Bhai Nibhaoo Singh was motivated by Satguru Ji. When circumstances permitted, Khalsa Ji, holding on the elephant's tail, climbing from the rear onto the elephant, he beheaded the oppressor of the times just as a gourd is cut from its vine. He did not think.....(inaudible).... whatever happened to the property....(inaudible).... I like to tell Kewal Krishan specially and those of his touts who are getting ready to bid and I humbly request those who have the Sikh appearance: "Don't poke your hand into the ....(inaudible).... of this faith. You won't be able to take it out. Love the Sikh appearance. Talk about Sikhi. Have faith in Satguru and give up greed. But if, surrendering to the power of the Government, if you bid at the auction of the homes of the Singhs and try to take over their property, I give you this warning that only such brother should make a bid who was born with two heads. If anyone with one head makes a bid, he can think for himself."
Systematic Police Brutality Directed At Sikhs.
Some people say I am saying this in anger. No, this is not anger. I say this with hurt in my heart. The Government has never stripped any Hindu's daughter or sister, only those of us Sikhs are stripped; no daughter of a Hindu has been stripped and her father laid on her, only those of us Sikhs were subjected to this humiliation; no Hindu's Beloved (object of worship) has been set on fire, if there has been such a fire in this regime, it has been set to only our Beloved (Siri Guru Granth Sahib); no son of a Hindu has been detained or hung upside down, only Sikh students have been so hung; no shop belonging to any Hindu has been set on fire by the Government, only the homes of the Sikhs have been burnt down. (I speak) keeping all these things in mind. No government official has forced a cow's bones into the mouth of a son of a Hindu, tobacco has been sprinkled and cigarettes forced and tobacco spat into the mouths of only Sikh young men; if police officials have shaved off beards only Sikh boys were shaved and they were sent to Amritsar saying: "Go and tell Bhindranwale to do what he can." First they have been sent and later when they reached here there are efforts to get someone to intercede.
Detention And Harassment Of Sikhs.
I have learnt today about our Bhai Bua Singh and Narinder Singh. The sentence for both was one year in detention. They were to be released on the 20th. On the 19th they were taken out of jail and taken to the police station and again detained for another year. They have been detained and have been assigned to the grindstone mills (where prisoners are required to grind grain in manually driven grindstones). If they have to get out of the grindstones then, Khalsa Ji, what is the restriction? We shall have to think about it. It is a challenge to us. During British times it was said that a Sikh could not keep his turban. There is one Gajjan Singh, I do not know this friend. Only Satguru knows the sort of temperament he has. He has used such bad words towards both of them that I cannot repeat them from this stage. Why did he use them? He said: "Why do you have saffron colored scarves on your heads? If you wish to stay here in comfort, you will have to take off the saffron colored scarves. If you wish to wear saffron colored scarves, orange scarves, then you will be confined to the grindstones." So, (I like to say to him). "My friend: This regime is not going to last forever. I shall only say that you are a son of the Sikhs - I have learnt this - you should not attack the turban and the beard and hair. The punishment for this will be very heavy. The Government may last two days, four days, or ten days. These people have to step aside some day. But keep in mind that if you think that destroying Bua Singh and Narinder Singh, or my associates, or Longowal and Bhindranwale or another few leaders will rid you of problems, it is never going to be so. So long as slavery is not shaken off the neck of our Sikh Nation, this struggle will continue."
Khalistan Issue. Sikhs Are Labeled As Communalists.
Yesterday four or five persons came to me. They asked: "Sant Ji, if Jagjit Singh Chauhan attacks Hindostan with assistance from England, America, and Canada, whom will you help?" I asked them: "Why do you have doubts?" They said: "Our business is to ask questions." I replied: "We shall support the Sikh appearance and the victim." He had thought that I would say "Jagjit Singh Chauhan or Hindostan." I had replied: "We shall support the Sikh appearance and the victim. Whoever is the victim, we shall certainly embrace him. Whoever is the oppressor, we shall destroy." Emergency was proclaimed (during 1975-1977). During the emergency, Hindus who were occupying chairs (were in power, Indira Gandhi and her party) arrested and jailed those who were victims and were just going about their ordinary business. Not even a single one of Akali workers had been arrested. But what transpired? Hindu-Sikh unity has taken deep roots in our minds, perhaps with time it will go away. But (at that time) it was very strong. With that in view, or may I say, not with that in view but following nAnc nAm CRHdI clA VErE BANE srb&V dA BlA "Nanak says: God's Name is glorious; there is good for all in accepting Your will", a struggle was launched from Siri Akal Takhat Sahib that we are not going to let any victim remain under oppression. No Sikh had been arrested. Only Hindus had been arrested by (other) Hindus. But starting the struggle from here we got Hindus out of jail. Those whom we got out of jail we even made into Prime Minister (Reference is to Chaudhri Charan Singh). Our leaders also gave him cars and bags (of money) because we considered them (Hindus) our brothers. Today people like Charan Chaudhri (Charan Singh, Prime Minister of India 1977-1980) and others who are his associates, say that Akali Dal should be banned. Guru's men: think it over. Who is a communalist, we or they? Their people arrested them and, considering them to be your own, you went to jail to get them out of jails. Today, the Sikhs, and may I say especially the Akali Dal, have started this struggle for all Punjabis, tell me how many Hindus have gone to jail? Have even forty hundred, out of a count of 660 million gone to jail? Forty thousand of you out of a total of 17.5 million went to jail during the emergency. And they call you communalists!
APPEAL FOR UNITY AND GREETINGS TO THE GROUP OF PROTESTORS GOIONG TO COURT ARREST
So, I humbly submit that we have to march together, stay together, give up intoxicants and stoutly, fearlessly support the Panth. All these things that are secretly going on, don't let them create doubts in your minds. Beware of these. We are together and all of us have to march together. Detractors Within The Akali Dal In conclusion I like to say this once again to these people who on their own link various things with me and have made up their minds that Bhindranwale has done this and someone else has done that. (The damage done by this) will be known when the consequences of this have to be faced. In 1979 (when Sant Bhindranwale opposed the Akali Party in Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections), besides Longowal (Sant Harchand Singh Longowal), who is there that did not call me a lecher, a vagabond, a bad character, a debauch, a Congressite and Indira's henchman? Has (anybody) made me one? Has anyone succeeded in making me (a henchman of Indira Gandhi)? Even today I shall ask these foolish people to desist from such acts. I shall never in my life seek a chair (public office). I haven't sought it in the past and am not desirous of it in the future. I desire but one thing that those who have Singh as their name should have beards on their face and (unshorn) hair and kirpaan in their gaatras. The ladies too should have kirpaans in their gaatras. You should be perfect in Sikhi, should abstain from intoxicants, believe in the Panth's (the Khalsa Brotherhood's) glory, and maintain reverence for the saffron Nishaan Sahib (the Sikh religious flag). If you engage in the kind of things I have mentioned earlier, you will be the losers. I lose nothing. (I am like) a bird without a tail that has no fixed home. I can pick up my shorts and move on. Our business is preaching Sikh faith. If you do not stop making accusations, no harm will come to me but if you don't, someday, sitting on the stage, I shall hold you by the ear and make you stand up (and answer). At that time you will not be able to call someone's mother your aunt. I do not take tea, I do not eat meat. There is no question of my taking alcohol or Kuttha (meat prepared by slow killing of animals). Of what will you accuse me on the stage? I haven't said this off-handedly. I say this with a sense of responsibility. I have said this after thinking over it for ten months. Don't get into similar things again.
I offer my heartfelt thanks to Bibi Jaswant Kaur and Bibi Joginder Kaur Ji and all the Singhs, all the friends, in the Jatha (group of protestors) that is going. Reading false stuff in newspapers don't fall victim to doubts. The Panth is united. Sometimes it is asked: "What is the need to say the Panth is united?" It arises when, from amongst us, some brothers falling victims to newspapers, considering them to be divine voice start thinking along wrong lines. It is then that we have to say. I must also request our workers - not only mine but of the Panth - and our elders and brothers, and our speakers regarding this feeling that is creeping into our minds; that we shall give further clarification. We do not have a contract that ever since the Sikh Nation came into being till the end of the universe, we should keep providing clarifications to these people. We should now stop doing this. Any cap-wearer (Hindu) who comes to us, we should ask him: "Are you with us or not." Now we should not say: "We are with you." Now we should start asking this of everyone: "Do you wish to keep us with you or not? If you want to keep us with you give us our equal rights. If you do not want to keep us with you, give us our land. We have given 93 heads and you have given seven. If there is some hill corresponding to seven, keep it for yourselves, and leave the rest for us. Vaheguru Ji ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji ki Fateh (The Khalsa belong to God, Victory belongs to God).

Today was the 23rd Anniversary of Ghalughara Divas. This was solemnly observed by the Sikh Panth in Shri Akal Takht today. Above are photos from the Associated Press taken today which still show the scars from 1984 brutal assault.

There are people who were close to Sant Sipahi, Mahaan Shaheed, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale, who are speaking the truth about this great Sikh Hero. This is from Daljit Singh Pannun in today's Tribune. Sant Ji never wanted Khalistan. He only referered to the Anandpur Sahib Resolution. The Indian Governement and media protrayed him as a seperarist leader, extremist and a terrorist. These labels should be thrown at Indira! She was the terrorist with crimes against humanity. Amritsar-born Indian Ambassador to Madagascar Daljit Singh Pannun, who had made efforts to avert Operation Bluestar by mediating between Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and the union government, has said certain forces had played mischief and misguided Indira Gandhi that led to the Army operation in June 1984. This was despite the fact that the firebrand sant had agreed to initiate dialogue to resolve the deadlock.
The exclusive interview with Pannun assumes significance since he had put his life in danger in resolving the vexed Punjab problem. The Indian envoy has also given first-hand information about the talks between Central government and Bhindranwale in “Cannon unto Canon”, brought out by Singh Brothers, which is yet to be released. “I was pushed to talk to Sant Bhindranwale at Akal Takht. It wasn't my personal effort, rather I was pushed into it by a large number of friends, including the then senior-most officer of the government of Punjab, S.S.Sidhu, who was the de facto ruler of the state.”
The Indian envoy said he was kept in the dark about the impending Army operation by the vested interests, otherwise many innocent lives could have been saved. He said he worked out some details with Sant Bhindranwale and it looked so simple and straight. “We had an informal and frank exchange of views. The book by Pannun reads that “the dialogue with Sant Bhindranwale was conducted in such warm and cordial atmosphere that he called for Rooh Afza which was arranged by Baba Thara Singh and we took it”.
“I remember I mooted the proposal that Indira Gandhi shall speak to the nation and appeal for peace and normalcy in the country, particularly in Punjab, and elaborate that all problems afflicting the state shall be resolved through mutual discussions,” Pannun said and added that he wanted the sant to respond to this appeal by announcing that he would wait for a month and shall persuade his followers and others to keep their guns without bullets during this period.
The envoy said he had proposed a period of four weeks for the same (while he wanted just one week), which they hammered out to 10 days. Pannun asked Sant Bhindranwale that if some mishap took place, Indira Gandhi would not name that it was done by your men. The sant, however, sought commitment from Pannu that the Central government would stop torturing Sikh youths during captivity. Pannu claimed that Sant Bhindranwale was keen that this plan should not be sabotaged.
The documentation of the reports sent to the Central government before Operation BlueStar reads, “We ended this meeting in utmost cordiality, understanding and were happy at the outcome. In fact I found there was nothing that would frighten the Government of India and anyone else.
Pannu claimed that Bhindranwale had repeatedly told him that he did not want Khalistan. He said Sant Bhindranwale told him that “I don’t want Khalistan but they would give it on a platter to me”. He said the sant was “grossly misunderstood” and had he been tackled with honestly and consideration, Operation Bluestar would have never taken place.

Shri Akal Takht Sahib's Jathedar, Giani Joginder Singh Vedanti asked the Sikh Panth to arm themselves as per the Sikh traditions and start “gurmat” classes at all gurdwaras with a view to uprooting the gurus of cults like Noormehlias, Bhaniarawala and Dera Sacha Sauda.

The jathedar honoured the kin of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Bhai Amrik Singh, former president, All-India Students Federation, and Maj-Gen Shabeg Singh, who had masterminded the fortification of Akal Takht and SGPC buildings before the Army operation.

There was anger from some Panthic organisations regarding some of the speeches considering the ongoing battle against the Choota 'Dera'.

One of the saddest days in my life. It's up there with the day my beloved Mum passed away.

The assault by Indira's forces was huge. She used an entire army division with light armoured tanks and armoured personnel carriers against the complex. It took one of the world's largest armies over 72 hours to take control of Shri Harimandir Sahib complex. This force faced less than 100 GurSikhs! Each GurSikh was Dasmesh Pitta Ji's son. Here's an eyewitness account from Giani Singh Sahib, the head Granth of Sri Darbar Sahib.

Singh Sahib Giani Singh Sahib, the head Granth of Sri Darbar Sahib, had his residence in Shaheed Bunga Street on the back side of Sri Darbar Sahib. Indian forces had initiated their attack on Sri Darbar Sahib at 4:45 AM on the morning of June 4. Under the battle conditions and intense exchange of fire, Singh Sahib fulfilled his duties on June 5 until noon. However, on June 6 he was unable to attend to his duties. Other Giani Sahibans, including Giani Mohan Singh Ji and Giani Puran Singh Ji, were forced to remain inside, even after the completion of their regular duties on the evening of June 5. They simply could not leave the premises. The following is an excerpt from an interview by Harbir Singh Bhanwer with Singh Sahib Giani Sahib Singh.

HARBIR SINGH: When were you able to first return to Sri Darbar Sahib after Operation Bluestar and what were the conditions as you saw?

SINGH SAHIB: Giani Mohan Singh Ji and Giani Puran Singh Ji, accompanied by some soldiers, reached my house around 5:00 AM on June 7. They informed me that General Sahib had summoned me, and instructed me to get ready in 15 minutes to accompany them. I left escorted by the soldiers.The Atta Mandi, Katdha Dal Singh and back anteroom (Deodhi) of Sri Darbar Sahib was full of soldiers. There were thousands of soldiers everywhere. We were stopped at every place and questioned, "Who is he? Kill him!" Soldiers escorting me responded, "He is the head priest."
Upon reaching inside the Darbar Sahib complex, I saw Sikhs seated all over the parikarma with their hands tied behind their backs with their own turbans. Among them were the Gurdwara employees. Giani Sujan Singh, Sant Bhindranwale's helper and SGPC member, was among the detained Sikhs.
At the foot-steps of the parikarma, we were met by an arrogant Sikh Colonel. When the accompanying soldiers informed him about me, he promptly ordered "If he is the head Granthi, bring him inside." The parikarma had 6-7 tanks on it. Dead bodies were everywhere. I inquired from the Sikh Colonel if I could meet with the detained Sikhs. He replied that his orders did no allow it. However, when I informed him that our own staff was among the detained, he suggested that I could watch but not speak with them. He further emphasized that if I talked with anyone, I will be killed.
Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed's Bunga was full of detained Sikhs. As they saw me, they started crying. Some requested if I could seek permission for them to drink water from the sarowar. Whoever spoke was mercilessly beaten by soldiers with gun butts and subjected to derogatory verbal abuse saying, "Sala asks for water!" I informed the Sikh Colonel that Gursikhs regularly organize "Shabeels" to distribute water, and requested permission to distribute water among the detained Sikhs.
Indian forces could be seen in all buildings of Sri Darbar Sahib. The reference library was burning at this moment. The whole parikarma was in bad shape, covered with blood, ammunition shells, and broken glass. There was no place to put your foot down. The soldiers accompanying me suggested that I wear my shoes. However, I refused and proceeded bare-foot.
At the Shabeel corner someone fired at me. Fortunately, I escaped. Now the soldiers escorting me were yelling "He is the head priest!", but no one was listening to anyone. I was shot at once again near the Lachi Baer Gurdwara. This bullet missed and hit the ground near me. Near Lachi Baer Gurdwara, Sri Akal Takhat's courtyard was filled with dead bodies. Soldiers were everywhere. The Darshani (Deori) anteroom, Janda Bunga, New anteroom-- soldiers were positioned everywhere with entrenched machine guns and LMGs.
The historical Lachi Baer tree was badly brutalized. The nearby room for Palki Sahib was badly littered with scattered rumalas. With a deeply saddened heart and great difficulty, I reached here. The Darshani (Deori) anteroom was full of drunken soldiers who were smoking cigarettes. When these soldiers saw me, they started hurling derogatory verbal abuses at me, "Who is this Sala?" Almost all soldiers were abusive. They could not utter any words without using derogatory terms.
From the doorsill to the bridge, the Darshani anteroom was filled with rubbish. The bridge was heavily guarded with armed soldiers. Sri Harimandir Sahib was also heavily guarded. The situation inside Sri Harimandir Sahib was no better. The carpets used for June 5 could not be replaced on June 6. Ammunition shells and broken glass littered the insides as well.
There were 6-7 Sikh soldiers, including a granthi and two Colonels, when I reached inside. They informed me that General Sahib had left after a long wait for me. They instructed me to conduct Sri Guru Granth Sahib's Prakash and initiate kirtan and other services. By now I had been informed by other Singh Sahibans that the sacred copy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib had been hit by a bullet.
HARBIR SINGH: The sacred copy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib that was hit by a bullet, was that in use in the main hall or on the first story?
SINGH SAHIB: This copy was in prakash in Sri Harimandir Sahib. At Har-Ki-Paudi a Sikh was reading from Guru Granth Sahib, when a bullet hit a window and broke its glass. A piece of that glass cut Pathi Sikh's hand. It is this Sikh's blood that you find on the rumalas.The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had previously riddled Sri Darbar Sahib with bullets from all corners on June 1. The next day, June 2, was not any better either. In consultation with Tohra Sahib, on the morning of June 4, all Akhand Paths were concluded and all sacred copies of Sri Guru Granth Sahib were moved in for safekeeping, after their 'sukhasan'. However, the Akhand Path at Har-Ki-Paudi was allowed to continue and completed on the morning of June 6. Because of the curfew imposed by the Indian forces, our employees could not reach Sri Darbar Sahib to assume their duties. As a result most pathis had to recite Path for 8-10 hours continuously.
HARBIR SINGH: When was Sri Guru Granth Sahib's Prakash conducted?
SINGH SAHIB: First of all we cleaned the insides of Sri Harimandir Sahib. The Sikh soldiers helped me with this task. Sukhasan of the sacred copy of Sri Guru Granth Sahib that was hit by a bullet was conducted next. Then the Sri Guru Granth Sahib copy was brought from Lachi Baer Gurdwara and the prakash was completed around 10:00 AM. There was no Kara Prashad served. A Sikh Subedar brought some sweet-meat prepared from sugar from somewhere, which was served instead.
HARBIR SINGH: Then which Shabad's kirtan was initiated?
SINGH SAHIB: When the two Colonels inside Sri Harimandir Sahib, Shamindar Singh and Sharma, asked me to organize shabad kirtan, I expressed the need for a significant staff to conduct such program. They asked me in return where to get the required staff, upon which I informed them of the Gurdwara employees among the detained Sikhs outside and asked for their release. They agreed to my suggestion and escorted me to where the Sikhs were detained. As I pointed out our staff members, their hands were sniffed.
HARBIR SINGH: (Astonished) Why did they sniff their hands?
SINGH SAHIB: I did not know either. Apparently, the hands used in firing guns can be identified through smell. It can also be identified from the fingers. Based on my request 15 Sikhs were released. The rest were considered prisoners and sent to camps. Among the released were Hajuri Ragi Mohinder Singh's tabla companion Bhai Gurcharan Singh (who could perform kirtan as well), Surma Singh Karamjeet Singh who could play tabla, and Sant Bhindranwale's Ragi Bhai Harbhajan Singh. For several days these individuals conducted the kirtan. The information regarding kirtan being performed by military personnel in your diary is inaccurate.
HARBIR SINGH: Who did the Ardas?
SINGH SAHIB: This too was done by Sri Darbar Sahib's Ardassia Bhai Harpal Singh. All these individuals stayed in my house for several days. Upon seeking their release I took them to my house. Several of them had blood stains on their cloths. They bathed and washed their clothes. Several of them had to use my clothes.
HARBIR SINGH: Shabad kirtan started being relayed on the radio on June 8, who organized this program?
SINGH SAHIB: The radio and electricity workers arrived on June 7. They installed the necessary wires, etc. Military personnel brought a loudspeaker from some Hindu individual. We returned it afterwards.
HARBIR SINGH: When were the dead bodies removed?
SINGH SAHIB: Giani Zail Singh was to arrive on June 8. So the Indian forces removed all dead bodies from the parikarma path from Ghanta Ghar anteroom towards Baba Budha's Baeri tree. But the bodies were left elsewhere. Even the sarowar had 10-12 floating bodies. I witnessed on June 7 that a Sikh ran out from a room along the parikarma and jumped into the sarowar. The soldiers immediately opened fire and killed him in the sarowar itself.
HARBIR SINGH: Did you learn anything about Sant Bhindranwale?
SINGH SAHIB: We learned on June 7 that his dead body was displayed in the Ghanta Ghar's anteroom. However, we weren't allowed to go there.
HARBIR SINGH: Tell us about Giani Zail Singh's visit?
SINGH SAHIB: On the day of Giani Zail Singh's visit, some soldiers took me towards the Langar building. All stories of this building were filled with soldiers. Dogra regiment was stationed here. Colonel Bajwa and one other Colonel informed me that some Sikhs were still in Ramgharia Bunga. They had taken one Captain Doctor hostage. Furthermore, these Sikhs had conveyed that if 5 Singh Sahibans asked them to drop their weapons they will comply. Giani Puran Singh was with me.
As we approached the bunga, we saw two Gursikhs seated with their backs tied to each other in front of the Bunga. We asked the Colonels that if the Sikhs drop their weapons would they not shoot them? They promised that if these Sikhs have not killed any of their men, they will be spared. Within the Ramgharia Bunga, approaching from Baba Kharak Singh's Dera side we spoke with the Sikhs over a small loudspeaker. We told them "If you have any military hostages, release them and come out, you will not be killed."We could hear some noises but could not understand what was being said. Finally, we heard that they did not have any hostages. Upon hearing this, the Colonel asked us to leave and said they will handle it from here. Giani Zail Singh's arrival was fast approaching.
HARBIR SINGH: Was firing ongoing when Giani Zail Singh arrived?
SINGH SAHIB: Firing was continuously going on at one place or another. However, your report that a security person in Giani Zail Singh's escort was shot is inaccurate. When Giani Zail Singh arrived, one of his escort had an umbrella covering him. I sent a sewadar and asked for the removal of the umbrella. They obliged. Giani Zail Singh paid respect upon reaching Harimandir Sahib.
The question of honoring him with saropa simply did not arise. He asked some officer to contact me. Upon meeting me, Giani Zail Singh first inquired about the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, Giani Kirpal Singh. I told him that he was safe. Then he asked about the attack. I summarized the events. Further I told him that the soldiers were moving around with naked heads, with boots, and continuously drinking and smoking within the premises. Their behavior was inappropriate and derogatory.Whenever they see a Sikh, they kill him without asking any questions. Hundreds of Sikhs have been killed this way. Additionally, the sacred places are being abused by them. They have done worse things than the Mughals. How could all this happen under a Sikh President?
Giani Zail Singh told me that Mrs. Gandhi did not tell him anything. He said that he wanted to visit on June 7 but could not. He said, "Even today I have managed to come after great difficulty."
I told Giani Zail Singh that the soldiers misbehaved with me and my staff. They make our job difficult. Why not arrest us too? He immediately ordered the four generals, Sundar Ji, Dayal, Baradh, and Jamwaal to provide security. I further explained that the soldiers have looted the homes of our staff including Giani Sahibans. Giani Mohan Singh has been badly beaten, arrested and taken away. They wanted to burn the markets behind Sri Darbar Sahib complex.I later learned that the military had planned to burn the whole street around my house and the Kolsar Bazar. They were saved by Giani Zail Singh. Giani Zail Singh saw the sacred copy of Guru Granth Sahib that was punctured by a bullet. He also witnessed the state inside Sri Harimandir Sahib. Thus, upon reaching Delhi, he immediately sent a package of Rumalas. I thought even though Giani Zail Singh is a Sikh, the rumalas are government property, and therefore did not use them.
HARBIR SINGH: Sardar Bhan Singh and Sardar Abinashi Singh were brought from camps by soldiers for Sri Darbar Sahib's visit, when were they brought for the first time?
SINGH SAHIB: They were probably brought on June 8. Interior Minister, Butta Singh, first arrived on June 9, and subsequently visited everyday. On June 9, I, Giani Kirpal Singh Ji, Sardar Bhan Singh, and Sardar Abinashi Singh met with Butta Singh inside Sri Harimandir Sahib and exchanged views about various things. Committees were then organized to take care of the treasury (Tosha Khana), Museum, and historical weapons. Slowly, things started improving. I had informed the military on June 7 that five Singh Sahibans will collectively make all decisions, and take any actions. However, the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat is the supreme authority. He can take any decision individually. Until June 16, all the Singh Sahibans had gathered together.
HARBIR SINGH: Your interview on Doordarshan, was that given of your free will or under the pressure of the military's guns?
SINGH SAHIB: The situation in Punjab was very dangerous at that moment. Giani Kirpal Singh had already read his views on TV. Whatever I said was done in consultation with our organizers, Sardar Bhan Singh and Sardar Abinashi Singh, etc. This was done to normalize the situation. However, all statements were checked and approved by the military authorities. They were constantly saying, "There is nothing here! Write more statements."
HARBIR SINGH: When was the sacred maryada of Sri Harimandir Sahib restored?
SINGH SAHIB: On September 29, the complex was handed over to us. The interrupted maryada was restored from Oct. 1 onwards. (The first Akhand Path at Har-Ki-Paudi was initiated for Giani Sahib Singh Ji).

There hasn't been a single Sikh in the Panth that has been able to lead since Mahaan Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale. Sant Ji have been called many things by various people over the years but none of these people have any notion of what Qurbani means? Do they know the Sakhi of Baba Deep Singh Ji? Do they know what is Shaheedi? Their perception is warped by what they perceived from the Government and the media. The media was fully controlled by the Centre. To this day, Amnesty International has been banned from Punjab in investigating the mass murders, torture, false imprisonments and fake encounters that occurred in the subsequent years to 1984. If there is nothing to hide then why ban Amnesty International? The Shaheeds are never forgotten by the Panth. We mention them every day in our Ardaas to WaheGuru!

Over the next few days, daas will be scanning his newspaper scrapbook from that period. For those that were too young or those that can remember can then see what we had to read about this Ghalughara Divas at that particular distressful time. Foreign reporters were unable to get to Punjab and desi media was biased to the extreme. All information was coming from the Press Trust of India. Censorship was enforced in Punjab and radio/tv/telephone lines were cut in and out of Punjab. Welcome to quote "the largest democracy in the world". Lol!

Daas has been watching and reading the latest news from Punjab during this crisis with the Choota 'Dera Sauda' and it's Naakli 'Baba'. It seems that nothing has changed in India in over 25 years. Same old biased desi media against the Sikhs. What an absolute load of crock from the desi media! Even worse, it includes articles written by so-called 'Sikh' experts.

Today's march was peaceful but it was very disappointing. Against the hukam of the Shri Akal Takht Sahib, the march was considerably shortened all because of ruling CM. Other Sikhs have noticed this as well. The whole protest is now so toned down that a squeak is no longer heard about the original blasphemy by the Naakli 'Baba'. Daas has no idea why people of Punjab vote in parties that have no interest in dharm but only in power. Sigh.

There will be GurSikhs like Bhai Jagtar Singh Ji who will try to do exactly what Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh Ji completed with WaheGuru's Kirpa a few years back. This Bhai Sahib was unlucky but others will not be. Too much external pressure on the Singh Sahibhan means that it will be the Courts that decide on the dodgy Choota 'Dera'. Even that's not clear cut if one looks back at the court cases arising from the events in 1978.

Tomorrow is the march from Gurdwara Shaheed Ganj Fathegarh Sahib to Gurdwara Jyoti Sarup Sahib to protest against the 'Dera'. Due to political pressure, the route seems to have been shortened than originally planned (to Chandigarh).

It seems that too many people in Punjab and India have such negative thoughts about GurSikhs that they bend over backwards not to show any kind of 'militant' thoughts/actions (i.e. dharmic thoughts/actions). There are so many negative editorials about Sikhs (written by so called 'Sikhs'). Daas finds this so, so, disappointing.

As expected and as per 'Gurmata', the fake 'apology' was categorically rejected by Shri Akal Takht Sahib. Jathedar of Shri Akal Takht called the Naakli 'Baba''s fake 'apology' as a 'Kameeni Harkat' (unscrupulous act) and called him a 'Paakhandi (Pretender), 'Dambi' (Deceitful), 'Ahankari' (Egotistical), 'Kamzor (Weak) and 'Buzdil' (Cowardly). Seems to be a very fair description. He also asked the SGPC to set up a panel of lawyers to fight this 'Dera' in the courts.

A lot of the Panthic bodies also feel the same way. Sikhs feel the same way as daas and requested the arrest of this 'Naakli' Baba.

Shri Akal Takht Sahib received the fake 'apology' today signed by some whatisname from the 'Dera'.

A lot of Sikh bodies are upset at this attempt by this 'Dera' to present this 'fake' apology. There are political bodies putting pressure on the Sikh Panth but the Kaum has to stay strong and look for strong leadership from Shri Akal Takht at this testing time.

The DSGPC made a great point that even the Pope didn't apologise to the Prophet when he made rather dubious remarks last year. He had to tender an apology to the entire Islamic nation worldwide. How on earth does this differ? Firstly, this Naakli 'Baba' is not head of an entire religion as the Pope and secondly, what he did was on purpose, not some naive remark.

This 'Dera' is getting on a lot of nerves. Even the 'mediators' are losing patience.

CBI is asking for more time to investigate regarding the judicial cases against the 'Dera'. How long does it take to get justice in India? Stupid question really, they still haven't picked up the instigators of the 1984 riots - 23 years later. What a complete and utter disgrace?! At least the SC told the 'Dera' that they need to wait in queue regarding their 'urgent' plea for protection.

At least, some folk are leaving this mad cult.

Today was bhog of Shaheed Bhai Kanwaljeet Singh Ji. It passed off peacefully with the Sikh Panth recognising the shaheedi of Bhai Sahib and presently it's respect to his family.

Late in the evening, the Choota 'Dera' produced a shrewed, calculating and mischievous move by presenting an 'apology' to the mass media. This 'apology' is to Dasmesh Pitta without mentioning the word sorry and neither is it addressed to the Sikh Panth or Shri Akal Takht Sahib. It doesn't even mentions the culprit of this whole affair, the Naakli 'Baba' @ Sirsa.

This fake 'apology' will not be accepted by the Sikh Panth (no matter what pressure). One has to say that this 'Dera' is run by a bunch of people who haven't got a clue about Sikhs or their history. There are reports that they are even miffed with the mediator 'Swami'. Lol!

Here's a combination of news tv reports of the day. It has the Bhog ceremony in the morning, speeches by Jathedar Sahibs, Damdami Taksal and then late in the evening, reaction to the fake 'apology'. Watch out for the geriatric 'bhangra' dance by deluded folk at this 'Dera'. It seems that this is standard practice at 'Sat Sangs' at this 'Dera'. Lol!

No TV news report today as situation is still the same as before. Only note worthy news today is that the 'Swami' mediator has just figured out what this Choota 'Dera' is about. The 'dharmic' peace initiative has failed due to the Naakli 'Baba'. The quotes are "we found that while the attitude of Sikh leaders was flexible, that of the Dera chief was one of dilatory tactics". He quotes that the Dera were "surprising and painful" and also "discourteous". Duh! No surprise there.

Meanwhile, more families leaving this 'sect'. Excellent news. The Naakli 'Baba' may be running to the Supreme Court for protection but nothing and nobody is going to save him from the Sikh Panth!

So we wait with abated breath for May 27. The Panth needs to stay strong and unified. Let's send a strong message to those who think that Sikhi is weak. For if we don't then tomorrow, another nutcase will play with our Sikh identity and history. We need to ignore those whose allegiance is to other masters or just interested in their own power trips/titles. The Panth needs strong leadership and we have to place that with Shri Akal Takht Sahib.

Also, included is a strange episode with someone dropping a revolver outside today's Jathedars meeting. There are reports from the Police that this was a cop however, no one is allowed to take firearms into the complex. Hum, very, very strange.

Today's Hukamnama from Shri Akal Takht Sahib has put further pressure on both the Badal Administration to clean up the 'Dera''s activities in Punjab and also on the 'Dera' itself with regards to a full public apology to the Sikh Panth.

It has also highlighted the 'Dera' culture that is mushrooming all over Punjab (as per daas's earlier update).

Today, we saw a debate with various Sikhs discussing the recent events in Punjab. It was good to see Chardi Kala GurSikhs like Bibi Kiranjot Kaur Ji on this panel. Daas was full of pride with some of the Sikhs in this debate. We also saw the other side of the coin as well, the dark side, which had the Politician/Writer's son and some Bollywood actress who deem a Sikh is someone who can pick and choose which tenets of Sikhism to believe in. Today,we see further overtures and moves for peace in Punjab. This is all very good news indeed. Daas hopes that tomorrow dealine passes peacefully with the 'Dera' people including their 'Baba' doing the right thing by apologising to the Sikh Panth.

Daas is absolutely astonished at some of the latest media reports from India. Looks like other Sikhs have noticed this as well including the Takht Jathedars as well. Some of the reports are absolutely so incredilous that one has to wonder how these people have a journalist licence? The Asian Age seems to have a 'journalist' called Asit Jolly writing great Jackanories (you have to be over 25 years old to understand) for the general populace. Two of his masterpieces include how 20000 'militants' from the Damdami Taksal just turned up out from the blue to attack the Dera on the 17th. First he rabbits on about how these 'militants' from Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale's Damdami Taksal are such a small minority in Punjab due to the Government purges in the past 20 years and then he springs a nice big number of 20000 who all of a sudden turned up at the Dera's doorstep shouting slogans for 'Khalistan'. It didn't take the media that long to mention the K word! The TV news footage in daas's previous updates shows many ordinary Sikhs from all works of life turning up at the Dera. The second story is just as laughable. The whole Dera violence is a conspiracy by the Badal Administration according to Mister Jolly's wild and vivid imagination.
It's strange to see how the desi media deems any baptised and true Gur Ka Sikh as a militant or 'atanvadi'. It may come as a shock to these media 'people' but the definition of a Sikh is someone who practices the religion fully (Rehat Maryada), i.e. someone who is a GurSikh believing in the Gur Sahibhan and Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Sikhi is without caste, colour, creed, sects and Dehdari Gurus. These are fundamental tenets of Sikhism. Those people who do not practise the religion cannot call themselves Sikhs. There is no such thing as Sikhs going to visit these sects and Deras. Sikhs do not believe in Dehdari Gurus so those people with dastaars on TV visiting/believing in these Deras/Sects are not Sikhs. Both terms are mutually exclusive. Absolutely incompatible. Full stop.
Recently, daas remembered a conversation with a practicing Muslim. He labelled a Muslim was someone that prayed five times a day who believed in Allah and the Koran. If a person didn't do this then he couldn't be labelled a Muslim. Exactly the same principle applies to a Sikh. You are a Sikh by your deeds, not by birth or title. Our Dasmesh Pitta Ji, Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, tell us, 'Rehit Pyaari Mujhko, Sikh Pyaara Naaheen.'
So, our deeds and rehit are important. This trend for the past ten years, in Punjab and India, of mushrooming of various Sects and Deras is worrying. This problem was not (surprisingly) around in 1983-84. Without falling in for the propaganda of state controlled Indian media at the time, this could be attributed to the fact that there was much more of Dharam Parchaar at that time in Punjab. This is critical for Sikh youth and people at present. It is so important that the Sikh Panth (SGPC/Akali Dal) sends out to each Pind, Village, District, GurSikh teachers preaching Dharam Parchaar to the people of Punjab. We wouldn't have half the problems in Punjab if this was the case.
The recent issues in Punjab have highlighted our need for a Sikh Leader under a unified Sikh Panth. Sadly, our last great Sikh Leader is now a Shaheed of the Panth.
Today's events in Punjab seem to have made this 'Baba' slightly more anxious. The fact that Punjab has curtailed his security has lead to a press statement from the Choota Dera Sauda of 'regret' for the events leading up to this issue. However, it doesn't mention 'apology' or 'sorry' so will this be enough for the Sikh Panth? Loss of face is now the key question for this 'Sect'. Maybe, the 'Baba' should have thought of this before coming up with his advertisement of 47 commandments whilst trying to mimic the Greatest Being of the Sikhs. Whoever advised him to do this should be fired (as Alan Sugar would say)! Similar to the rule in Islam, no human being can portray our Guru Sahibhan. No one! How many movies, programmes do you see with someone protraying our Guru Sahibhan? A big fat zero. Nil. Zip. Nada. No one is worthy. So, this 'Baba' who now is stating that he's has utmost respect for Sikhi, should first start reading our Sikhi itihaas and rehit maryada.
This is probably daas's longest update in the blog but it's something daas very strongly believes in.

Daas is kush that there is shaanti today in Punjab. Various biased desi media reports are reporting that Choota Dera Sauda Naakli 'Baba' has/is apologising to the Sikh Panth. However, the words from this Naakli 'Baba' so far are anything but an apology. Nice article yesterday from Panthic Weekly on this Naakli 'Baba'. I'll update the blog later with a news update from today.

However, this is a news report from today (WARNING biased as usual) in the morning which summarised the events from yesterday. Included is a statement from the Shri Akal Takht Sahib's Jahedar with what's required to resolve this issue. Let hope some sense can prevail before the May 20 deadline from this 'Dera'.

Watching today's events in Punjab have been harrowing. Even more so, seeing the almost Goebbels controlled biased news coverage on nearly all the desi TV channels. Daas previous posts had shown coverage from Hindi channels. This next news report is from the Punjabi channels. It's strange that the so called 'Sikh' colour expert is anything but a GurSikh. He dismisses the sacrilegious acts from this cult. One should ask him why does he wear a dastaar? Almost all the reports are now from the Choota Dera Sauda camps. Daas is astonished to see so called 'Sikhs' in these Deras. The West has a huge problem with educating the masses with what really is 'Sikhi' but it seems that this is nothing compared to what is required in Punjab! These brainwashed mobs in the Deras are shouting their anti-Sikh slogans but where's the balanced reports from the Panthic side? This is a lesson that the Panth should have picked up from 1984. The Sikh Panth needs media which is not controlled by politicians and non-Sikh entities. How about Panthic TV and newspapers? No outside interference and especially, none from Mister Badal.

In the past few hours, events in Punjab have become very fluid. In the latest news reports, pitch battles and unfortunately, a death has been reported. Daas's Ardaas to WaheGuru is for Raksha of the Sikh Panth. As our Dasam Pitta Ji tells us -

The statement from today's Sarbat Khalsa meeting at Talwandi Saboo was very disappointing in daas's eyes but not surprising. Sikh leaders in India are now politicians rather than 'Sikh Panth leaders'. In the end, it was a rather damp squib affair. It sends the wrong message to the perperators of these problems. It seems that passing the buck is the norm ...

With great sadness, does daas watches the recent events unfold in Punjab. It seems our recent Panth history is repeating itself. These events mimic those from 1978 and 1984.

We are reminded constantly of the following Gurbani -
ਛੋਡਿ ਛੋਡਿ ਰੇ ਪਾਖੰਡੀ ਮਨ ਕਪਟੁ ਨ ਕੀਜੈ ॥
ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤਹਿ ਲੀਜੈ ॥੧॥
Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj (Raamkaali Ang 973)
"O hypocrite, renounce and abandon your hypocrisy; do not practice deception.
Constantly, continually, chant the Name of Waheguru."

So why does this Choota 'Dera Sauda' do these sacrilegious acts? Their fifteen minutes of fame in the annals of history will be lumped together with names from the our past as Wazir Khan, Massa Rangar, Ahmed Shah Abdali, General Dyer, Indira Gandhi and General Vaidya (to mention a few).
Gurbani tells us to follow the true path -

ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਨਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਧੁਲਾ ਚੇਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਠਾਉ ॥
ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਉ ਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕਿਆ ਸੁਆਉ ॥
ਆਇ ਗਇਆ ਪਛੁਤਾਵਣਾ ਜਿਉ ਸੁੰਞੈ ਘਰਿ ਕਾਉ ॥੩॥
Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj (Siri Raag Ang 58)
"Those chelé, those devotees, whose spiritual teacher is blind, shall not find their place of rest. Without the True Guru, the Name is not obtained. Without Naam, the Name, what is the use of it all? People come and go, regretting and repenting, like crows in a deserted house."

Let's hope that the Sikh Panth (especially the Jathedars of our Takhts) send an unified and very strong message tomorrow (May 17 from Talwandi Saboo) to those 'individuals' that think Sikhi and Guru Sahibhan are exploitable play things for themselves. In the end, this Choota Dera Sauda will regret all this as it will back fire on them. All their past deeds will come into the open.

This excellent documentary programme shows some of the historical Gurdwaras that have been seperated from the Sikh Panth which are now residing in Pakistan. Also included are some of the celebrations of Dhan Dhan Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj Janam Gurpurb at Janam Astan, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib.
